From early training in Blantyre to Army representation and international competition, Yamie's career reflects discipline, service, and long-term commitment to developing others through martial arts.
Joined the British Army in 2007 and serves with 4th Regiment RA at Alanbrooke Barracks, Thirsk.
Started martial arts at age 10 in Blantyre, Malawi, later becoming Chief Instructor of the Taekwondo Association of Malawi.
Represents the British Army and UK Armed Forces, serving as Army World Taekwondo coach and captain.
Represented Malawi at the 2016 Rio Olympic Qualification Games and the 2019 World Taekwondo Championships.
Received BAE Systems and ASCB scholarships, plus Army Elite and TASS support from 2015 to 2024.
Leads community work through the AMAA Engage to Recruit campaign with the UK Warrior Academy and Bates Foundation.
